Last week didn’t bring much change for XRP. It closed at $1.3346 on Thursday 15 Oct, and at about $1.31 on Thursday 22 Oct, a 1.8% drop. The week’s lowest close was at $1.2934 on Saturday. XRP was at about $1.39 on Wednesday before profit-taking and large deposits of XRP pulled the price down. ETFs had a net positive week ending at about $1.78M (16-22 Oct). Ripple signed a settlement-liquidity deal with Arf, and filed a comment to the SEC supporting their proposal for crypto rules. Evernorth also filed their warrant prospectus. The XRPL also had a short slowdown, and the fix amendment was moved to about 4 Nov.

Prices are UTC day closes. 21 and 22 Oct are approximate (provisional).

    Friday 16 Oct: $1.3110 (-1.77%)

    No XRP-related news reported.

ETFs had -$2.47M, mostly from Canary XRPC (BeInCrypto). This tipped the week of 12-16 Oct to -$1.84M, the first week in the negative since July and ending the 13 week continuous inflow run.

    Saturday 17 Oct: $1.2934 (-1.34%)

The lowest close of the week and a 3.1% drop from the close on 15 Oct.

    Sunday 18 Oct: $1.3070 (+1.05%)

A bounce from the previous day.

    Monday 19 Oct: $1.3036 (-0.26%)

ETFs had a net flow of 0 for the day.

Evernorth filed its warrant prospectus (SEC 424B3, 19 Oct). Up to 11,499,992 shares are issuable if public warrants are exercised at $11.50. Evernorth only receives cash on exercise, up to about $132.2M.

    Tuesday 20 Oct: $1.3355 (+2.44%)

This was the largest daily gain for the window.

    Net ETF flow was 0.

The XRPL had intermittent slow ledger closes.

Ripple filed a comment letter in support of the SEC’s proposed Regulation Crypto Assets (Crypto Briefing).

    Wednesday 21 Oct: about $1.365 (+2%)

This was the highest close for the window.

XRP briefly spiked to about $1.39 (its first time near $1.40 in around ten days) (Motley Fool, CryptoPotato) and then corrected.

Franklin XRPZ saw inflows of $2.25M with Bitwise XRP saw outflows of $1.55M.

    Thursday 22 Oct: about $1.31 (-4%)

XRP corrected below its 21 Oct rejection around $1.37.

According to CryptoQuant, whale deposits to Binance hit a 7 month high. The monthly average of whale inflows was $112.4M, the highest monthly average since March. Exchange deposits do not necessarily mean sell orders (crypto.news, Benzinga).

Benzinga also cited profit-taking after a 30%+ rebound since August and $4.90M of long contracts liquidated in 24 hours.

Ripple and Arf announced a deal: Arf plans to provide short-term RLUSD financing on the XRPL to licensed payment firms (crypto.news, Coinpedia).

ETF inflow of $3.55M was all Franklin XRPZ.

    Top XRP treasury companies

Evernorth (XRPN) remains the only XRP treasury company that has been publicly confirmed. They are holding approximately 473 million XRP (company release on 14th October, matching The Block and Motley Fool).

Evernorth plans to deploy from its treasury with Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase and BitGo from Q4 2026.

Other companies such as VivoPower, Trident Digital, Webus and Wellgistics have made similar announcements, but have not publicized any treasury holdings. Fewer than five XRP treasury companies can be verified with dated holdings.

Recent updates to the XRP Ledger and XRP services

A slowdown on the XRP Ledger on 20th October resulted in intermittent slow ledger closes. Payments were still settling, just with some delays. Reports differ on the exact hours. Reports state that ledgers close in about 4 seconds, and single ledgers took up to 50 seconds to close on 20th October, per XRPL operations data. The cause of the slowdown is still unconfirmed. Some say that the slowdown was due to servers being overloaded with too many transactions, and that the servers were trying to push too many transactions into each ledger. A recommended configuration change for xrpld was applied by operators. Normal ledger closes were reported on the 22nd. The developers are working on a point release to permanently fix the issue.

fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment (xrpld 3.4.0): This patch was scheduled to activate on 23 October. On 21 October, validator support briefly dropped to 26/35 (less than 80%), and the 2-week timer reset. Support has increased to 31/35 (89%), and the expected activation time is 4 November. It’s not related to the recent slowdown, contributors say.

Lending Amendments: None of the proposals have started the 14-day approval window (two continuous weeks above 80%). LendingProtocol and LendingProtocolV1_1 have 19/35, and SingleAssetVault has 21/35. All would require 29/35 for activation, and as such have no expected mainnet date.

Ripple and Arf (22 October): Arf plans to provide short-term RLUSD financing on the XRPL to licensed payment firms. Loans will typically run one to five days. Native XRPL lending (XLS-65 and XLS-66) is still waiting on the Lending Protocol amendments.

    Supply and Holdings

XRP Circulating Supply: According to CoinMarketCap, there are about 63.13 B XRP in circulation, which is about 63% of the total supply of 100B.

Ripple controls about 31.40B XRP in escrow, which is about 31.4% of the total supply (on-chain data on 22 Oct, matched by TokenPost’s 13 Oct snapshot).

US Spot ETFs and Evernorth control about 1.17B and 473M XRP, respectively (about 1.2% and 0.47%).

Retail holdings are difficult to measure. Percentages are calculated using the total supply of 100B as the base.

    Implications

The $1.29 close on 17 October, and $1.25 prior to that, is support. Resistance is $1.37 to $1.40, where XRP was previously rejected on 21 October.

ETFs ended the week on two inflow days despite the dip, and the XRPL continued to process settlement payments. Ripple continues to add more real world use cases (like Arf financing) and backed clear US rules in its 20 Oct SEC comment letter.

Upcoming: The FOMC (27-28 Oct), the fix amendment projection (4 Nov), and the XRPL point release.

Data and sources: Prices from Investing.com, CoinGecko, and CoinRanking; ETF flows from SoSoValue-based reports (BeInCrypto, TokenPost, Odaily); ETF holdings from xrp-insights, treasuries from Evernorth’s release and SEC filing, XRPL details from CryptoSlate, TokenPost, icobench, and KuCoin, supply from CoinMarketCap, on-chain escrow, and other pertinent data.
